Today was a super fun low tide session in sunny, 84 degree weather with a WNW and SW swell filling in. We joined the lineup out by the kelp again although there were inside sections and some shortboarders and longboarders going for those. Both Max and I got several fun rides. My two best waves were totally different. The first wave swelled up from the kelp and I caught it easily and turned right down the line, later curving inward and continuing farther south past the boulders than I’ve ever been. A women on a board shouted “woo!” in the distance. The paddle back out was fun – negotiating through mounds of kelp all the way to the outside. The water was so glassy and so full of kelp today. The second wave was a perfect left: saw it building, paddled/angled towards the peak, was in just the right spot to pop up as it broke, ride left high on the face through to the inside and curve right for a while before kicking out. So fun. By the time we left, the sets were getting bigger and there were at least 6-7 waves per set. Hopefully the swell will keep up!

[REGIONAL SUMMARY: Fun waves continue to pour in this afternoon with waist-shoulder high surf at good spots and head high/slightly overhead sets showing at standouts. Conditions are clean through town but the big late morning high tide is still bogging many spots, so look for the surf to speed up as the afternoon goes on.]
