We had wanted to try the breaks by the Jetty and catch a nice right, but despite rising tide, there wasn’t enough power for the wave to break right. We opted for one of the middle breaks instead. The waves were small today but I still got some fun rides. After catching mostly reforms on my Superfish the last few times to practice, I managed to get a few small waves from the outside today. So much fun. My popup is getting smoother on the Superfish too and I’m used to the shorter length. I practiced a few small turns in the whitewater yesterday and today and the board is so responsive. It’s great to see Max standing up on his shortboard too! The weather was colder today (50s… yes, in June :) and I wore my 3mm gloves for the first time in a while. I ordered some 1.5 mm gloves last night online since I haven’t been able to find them locally in my size, XXS. Can’t wait to get them and try them out. They should be perfect for colder temps without sacrificing feel and flexibility. The 3mm gloves are a bit thick and rigid.
Also switched to shooting photos and video with my Panasonic Lumix instead of the Fuji waterproof camera. The Lumix is higher resolution and is the image and quality of light is much closer to reality, without any color correction.

[1-2 ft Light and variable west-northwest winds with smooth seas. Small short period wind waves from the west-northwest. REGIONAL SUMMARY: NW windswell mix continues as some small SSW(180-200) groundswell slowly builds in. Unfortunately we have steady onshore flow again this morning making for poor/sloppy conditions across most of the region. Most breaks are running in the waist-chest-head high zone with larger sets for top exposures.]
