Super fun today! It’s been fair with NW windswell the past few days but I’ve had a cold since Friday and through the weekend and finally felt good enough today (and didn’t have morning meetings) to go for a surf. I’ve got my 7’4 back but still having fun on the Mitsu so I took that out again today. Mellow conditions and almost glassy at times, with the wind holding off and the higher tide filling things in. Got so many lefts over and over in a spot to ourselves. Easy lines rolling in. Angled on most take-offs and made it, zipping left already when I popped up. Love practicing that. And today was perfect for it, with pretty much non-stop waves coming in. I’d look down the line and see the dark-haired guy on the short board coming right. Must have shared five waves like that. We’d just smile and straighten out. The daughter of the Mom with the Meyerhoffer was on the inside right of me most of the time so I gave her some space but also got a couple fun, swoopy rights too from the same spot. Didn’t feel tired or cough too much so hopefully, I’m back to 100%. Max has the 10′ Koa, fixed by Sunset, and was psyched to be on it, catching a bunch of waves. YAY. Saw more whales in the distance too! Two big ones breaching all the way up. Saw the head of one and the tail of another. Beautiful.
