This weekend was a big NNW swell and NorCal (and Oregon and Washington) had the biggest waves in the nation. On Friday, the buoy readings were going crazy, rising from 14.4′ at 20 seconds at 8pm to 27.6′ at 16.7 seconds by midnight.
We had to see for ourselves! Went out to Linda Mar to take some photos on Saturday late afternoon in time to see some fairly big waves, even though it was low tide. Also, check out Heather Shaw’s photos of Mavericks on Saturday with waves reaching 30′.
